Corsica enjoys one of the most generous Mediterranean climates in Europe, with over 2,700 hours of sunshine a year, warm seas from June onwards, and landscapes that change with the seasons. But depending on what you want to do - beach, hiking, authentic village or high-altitude skiing - the right time won't be the same.

What's the climate like in Corsica?
Like all Mediterranean islands, Corsica has a Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. In Corsica, the climate is favorable during April, May, June, July, August, September, October and November. Temperatures peak in July and August. During these months, the weather is very hot. The coldest months are January, February and March. November and January are generally rainy. Between October and February, snow falls and often covers the mountain peaks well into the summer.

Corsica temperature in January
During the first month of the year, it rains about two weeks out of four, and humidity is over 80% in most towns. The average temperature is around 10°C and days are short, lasting less than 10 hours. In winter, it's very cold in the mornings and evenings, while in the middle of the day, temperatures can rise to 15°.
What's the temperature like in Corsica in February?
In February, the cold is less intense, rain is less abundant and days are longer, lasting up to 10 hours. Except in Bastia, where precipitation is still as heavy as in January. As in the previous month, temperatures do not exceed 15°C.
Corsica's temperature in March
Then, in March, the sun gradually makes an appearance and the climate becomes more pleasant. During this month, the maximum temperature is 15°C and the day lengthens as it approaches 12 hours. Clouds also begin to dissipate, covering only around 30% of the sky.
What's the temperature like in Corsica in April?
At last, the sun returns in April! The climate becomes warmer and days last longer than 13 hours. Beach outings can begin! It still rains, but this is offset by the rise in temperature, which generally tops out at 18°C.
