"Happy New Year!!!" "Pace e salute!"

The end-of-year festivities are over, but many events are already well scheduled for this new year. Between tradition, parties and shows, discover the event program for this month of January.

Why spend January in Corsica? Our answers here!

January agenda :

  • Until January 5: Natale in Calvi. (Upper Corsica). The annual winter rendezvous for Calvians and Balinese alike, with a skating rink and Christmas village.
  • Until January 5: Natali in paesu in Porto Vecchio (southern Corsica). Once again this year, the town offers a wide range of events to entertain young and old and liven up the town... And the ice rink is back again this year!
  • January 6: Epiphany. Time for the galette des rois! Brioche or frangipane? This tradition, deeply rooted in the island's culture, remains a festive, family moment. In Bastia, Epiphany is characterized by the traditional dish of lasagne, a symbol of prosperity. "A ch'ùn manghja lasagne u ghjornu di Pasqua Pifania si lagna tuttu l'annu. "
  • Until January 8: I Marinelli vi preganu un bon Natale a L'Isula! Rendezvous in Marinella to enjoy some great convivial moments. On the program: tastings, rides, storytelling, cinema, shows, circus workshops...
  • January 9: Rencontres musicales de Méditerranée at the municipal theater in Bastia (Cap Corse). A concert that promises a wealth of musical discoveries, to be enjoyed without moderation.
  • January 26: Trail blanc de la Restonica at Castel de Vergio in Albertacce (Haute Corse) A day that combines solidarity, sport and conviviality. Come and run, walk, meet up with friends around a bonfire lit for the occasion, dance to the rhythm of the music and share a spuntinu. It's all part of the same spirit of sharing and mobilization in the fight against cancer.

The island of beauty lends itself wonderfully to a wide range of events - not to be missed - which follow one another through the seasons. From secular festivals to religious commemorations, from fairs to cultural events, there are so many ways to discover and love Corsica.
