Day 1 : Brando

Departure

Boarding in Bastia

Welcome to the port of Bastia at 6pm sharp and board your catamaran. After settling into your cabins, your crew will brief you on safety rules and life on board, over a welcome cocktail.

Erbalunga

You'll set sail next, heading north to the charming Erbalunga, an hour's sail away. Nicknamed the "Painters' Nest" in the 1930s, the coastal village of Brando, with its whitewashed houses and small port, is incredibly photogenic. The ideal place for a first stopover before heading off to the Tuscan islands.

Day 2 :

Erbalunga - Capraia Island

At around 8 a.m., after a hearty breakfast, you'll weigh anchor for a five-hour trip east to Capraia. You'll sail into the open sea of the Pelagos sanctuary, Europe's largest marine reserve, where it's not uncommon to spot large cetaceans and dolphins. After mooring in Porto Vecchio, the small port of Capraia, you'll be eager to disembark and explore the area. The best way to get up to the village perched on its promontory is to take the shuttle bus, which passes through the port every quarter of an hour. Beforehand, you'll need to buy your tickets (approx. €1) at Chez Massimo restaurant. In terms of culture, the late-Baroque Church of St. Nicholas and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Genoese fortress, are particularly impressive. Follow the narrow streets of the village to the Torre del Porto for a splendid panoramic view. On your way back to the port, stop off at La Gelateria to refresh yourself with a famous ice cream. If it's not too hot, hikers can choose one of the island's many trails through the fragrant maquis. In midsummer, it's best to go snorkeling: Capraia is renowned for its richly preserved seabed.

Day 3 :

Capraia Isola - Elba, Gulf of Viticcio - Portoferraio

You'll leave port early for a leisurely sail along Capraia's east coast, admiring its cliffs and cliffs and a succession of rocky, crystal-clear coves. At the southern tip of the island, we'll Cala Rossa, one of the most spectacular coves in the Mediterranean. The contrast between the the contrast between the sanguine volcanic rocks of the sheer wall and the white promontory of Zenobito promontory. Leaving Capraia behind, we make our way to the island of Elba. which we'll approach via the Gulf of Viticcio at lunchtime. The five small beaches of Viticcio, surrounded by a cliff covered in pines and garrigue, are perfect for a relaxing stopover and a swim in an idyllic setting with views of the Enfola peninsula and Mount Capanne.

In the afternoon, we'll head for the island's capital, Portoferraio.

In the afternoon, we head for the island's capital, Portoferraio. Its natural harbour, a haven for ships since antiquity, and the island's iron deposits are the source of its incredibly rich history. Founded by the Medici on the remains of the Roman city of Fabricia, Portoferraio has retained all the charm of the Renaissance charm. The narrow streets of the historic center are welcoming and lively, and a stroll at the end of the day is a real pleasure, including the warm Italian atmosphere.

Day 4 :

Portoferraio - Ortano - Porto Azzurro

Morning departure from Portoferraio to round Elba to the northeast. Our first stop of the day is Ortano, with its beach and islet of the same name. A former iron mining center, the quay where ore was loaded onto ships still exists. The sea is particularly transparent at Ortano, making it a popular spot for snorkeling around the islet. After lunch, a short sail takes you to Porto Azzuro. This charming fishing village nestles at the head of the Gulf of Mola. It's renowned for its seaside atmosphere and its many nearby beaches, including Barbarossa. If you're a keen hiker, push on to the Sanctuary of Montserrat, nestled in the wilderness 3km from the village. After dinner on board, don't hesitate to return ashore to enjoy the lively summer evenings.

Day 5 :

Porto Azzurro - Innamorata - Gulf of Lacona

After a cappuccino on a terrace in Porto Azzuro for the early risers, you'll continue your tour of Elba, rounding Cape Calamita on your way to Innamorata beach. This romantic cove takes its name from the legend of Lorenzo and Maria. The story goes that Maria, the lover, in an attempt to save her lover kidnapped by Barbarossa's pirates, threw herself into the sea and drowned. All that was only her shawl was found on a rock, now known as the Scarf.

To the water!

Opposite Innamorata, the two small Gemini islands are a great playground for gentle water sports. So don't be like Maria, and get out your paddle, kayak, flippers, mask and snorkel to explore them. Lovers of snorkelers are in for a treat.

Day 6 :

Gulf of Lacona - Cavoli - Fetovaia

There's no hurry this morning, we've got into the Mediterranean rhythm. After leaving the Gulf of Lacona, we'll sail quietly towards the beach of Palombaia or the wilder Cavoli, to enjoy the sea and discover, thanks to your catamaran's tender, the Azzurra grotto with its shiny bottom. Swim, snorkel and relax before heading for the Fetovaia anchorage. Protected by an 800-metre promontory jutting out into the sea and covered in wild scrub, the Fetovaia cove is a paradise. The color of the sea ranges from deep blue to light green as you approach the white sand. A favorite with summer visitors, discovering it aboard your catamaran is a real privilege. The evening's farewell to the islands of Tuscany promises to be festive: tomorrow, we'll be heading for Corsica.

Day 7 : Bastia

The return

Depending on sea conditions, your captain may decide to leave Fetovaia in the morning, or preferably early afternoon, to set sail for the Corsican coast, some 30 miles to the west, a journey of around five hours. Whatever time you arrive in the port of Bastia, make the most of the time available to explore the town with your nose to the wind. A city of art and history, you'll be drawn into its old streets and charmed by its citadel, Terra Nova, built in 1380. Elba and Corsica share a common history, and it shows.

By 9 a.m. at the latest, after breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to your fellow cruisers, if you didn't know them before this Tyrrhenian odyssey, and to your crew.

Practical information

From 10/05 to 03/10/2025 inclusive, you will board an 18 m Catlante 600 catamaran accommodating up to 12 people in addition to the Captain and hostess cook. 6 cabins of at least 6 m2 with a height of 2 m, equipped with a large fixed panoramic porthole and two opening portholes and a fan. Private shower room with WC. Linen and towels changed once a week (on request). 4 distinct areas:

The cockpit (outside, covered and protected) where meals are taken.
The Inner Carré, with its vast bays surrounding the saloon, which offers a 270° panoramic view of the sea.
The Upper Deck and its solarium area equipped with sunbathing mattresses and comfortable seating around the helm station with an exceptional view of the horizon.
The foredeck where the traditional nets have been replaced by a platform, for a second comfortable and safe sunbathing area.

At your disposal: fins, masks and snorkels and "swim exit" shower at the stern of the boat. Kayaking and snorkelling (provided), paddling (on the 720s) and fishing in authorised areas (equipment not provided). Swimming and sunbathing. Thanks to the underwater spotlights, you can admire the fish at night, swim under the stars or chat on deck over a drink. Included from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on the last day. Breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners served at the table or buffet style. Drinks at discretion.
