Center Corse, a hiking paradise

Hiking is widely practiced in the Centre Corse region, with three major summer tournaments: the Restonica trail, the Via Romana and the Périple de l'Arche. Access: the Restonica trail is located in the valley that bears its name. The Via Romana runs along part of the Castagniccia. The Périple de l'Arche starts from Corte and runs along Scandulaghju.
If you like trail running, July is the time to come to Corte to take part in (or cheer on) 4 spectacular races: 17 km with 650 m of ascent to 110 km and 7200 m of ascent! The races take place on courses offering a variety of reliefs and surfaces, as well as diverse landscapes. Don't forget to try out some of the short loops that run alongside these routes. There's a winter version of the Restonica trail, the Trail Blanc, which takes place every year in January.
Come and experience a real change of scenery and recharge your batteries in Central Corsica! Our consultant specializing in tailor-made tours will help you plan your next vacation in Corsica.

Vivario

Join us in Vivario, a small Corsican village, for a superb hike in the Vizzavona forest. Stretching between Monte d'Oro and Col de Palmente, this is one of Corsica's most beautiful forests. Dozens of kilometers of trails and forest roads wind through laricio pines and beech trees. A mid-point on the GR 20, this forest is well known to hikers.
The monte d'Oro (2,389 m) is one of Corsica's great peaks, and is a long hike reserved for the more athletic. Its name derives from the many springs that flow down its slopes. The hike to the summit allows you to admire all the variety of landscapes that the Corsican mountains have to offer. The panorama is grandiose, from Monte Cinto in the north to the islands of Tuscany in the east. If you like to challenge yourself, this is the hike for you!
Last but not least, don't miss the beautiful view over the deep gorges of the torrent and the mountainous setting from the double Vecchio bridge. A work of art built between 1825 and 1827 on the Ajaccio-Bastia main road. The bridge is dominated by the high piers of the metal railroad viaduct built by Gustave Eiffel around 1888. The Ajaccio-Bastia railroad line was fully completed and opened to traffic in 1894. We can advise you on the most beautiful hikes in Central Corsica, according to your level and interests.
