Rendezvous on the Eastern Plain

Corsica is divided into 3 geographical regions: western Corsica, eastern Corsica and the central furrow. Eastern Corsica is in turn made up of 3 blocks: Cap Corse, Castagniccia and the Eastern Plain. The latter begins south of Bastia, the Casinca, and extends as far as the Aléria plain (piaddia d'Aleria), offering a different face of Corsica: hills, coastal plains and plateaux.

More broadly, eastern Corsica stretches from south of Bastia to Porto-Vecchio, and is full of surprises, especially for those wishing to discover a truly authentic Corsica, far removed from mass tourism.

Unlike the West Coast, Corsica's East Coast offers very long, child-friendly sandy beaches. An ideal coast for family vacations in nature, there are many vacation and camping sites with mouths directly on the sea, which are rarer to find on the west side.

Behind the coastal region, a vast green carpet of vineyards, fruit plantations and fields as far as the eye can see awaits you. Don't miss out on a visit to one of the many mountain villages! From the top of these beautiful villages, you'll have the privilege of breathtaking views over the eastern plain. It's also an opportunity to discover authentic Corsican life, with its culinary specialities, craftsmen and gentle way of life.

On the cultural front, the east coast is not lacking in attractions either. In Aléria and Mariana, discover the remains of two ancient Roman settlements.

A land of hikers, you can enjoy memorable walks and treks, and take a refreshing dip in the rivers. Numerous bays, beaches and coves, in unspoilt natural surroundings, ensure your peace and quiet.

Tourism in Costa Verde, Costa Serena, Côte des Nacres

Discover the 3 micro-regions that make up Corsica Orientale: Costa Verde, Costa Serena and Côte des Nacres. Local players are doing their utmost to build an ecotourism network in Eastern Corsica, and are committed to a form of tourism that respects natural resources and builds on local know-how and the richness of its terroir.

Visit the Costa Verde

Bordered by 17 km of fine sandy beaches, and boasting a pretty marina, the port of Taverna, the Costa Verde will delight both families with children, with its gently sloping beaches and shallow waters, and thrill-seekers, who will have the opportunity to practice extreme sports here (paragliding, climbing, canyoning...).

A detour to Cervione, a magnificent mountain village known as "the balcony over the sea", will allow you to dominate the eastern plain and immerse yourself in Corsican rural life. Don't miss the chance to sample local hazelnut products and visit the Musée d'Arts et Traditions Populaires.

Ghisonaccia and Aléria: hiking and ecotourism

The Costa Serena offers a splendid backdrop for those wishing to discover Corsica: the diversity of its landscapes, the complementary nature of sea and mountains, and the balance between traditional and modern daily life. Meet producers and craftsmen for a moment of sharing: in Aléria, Domaine de Mavella welcomes you to the heart of its whisky distillery, the only one on the island. This authentic site invites you to navigate between history and tradition
and try your hand at distilling these exceptional spirits.

Lovers of fishing in the mountain streams will find what they're looking for here. Those who prefer swimming in the rivers and lounging on the beach will also be delighted. Those who enjoy hiking through pine forests and scrubland will discover many charming isolated villages. Mountain lovers can enjoy the via ferrata of Chisa, one of the most beautiful in Europe.

Aléria is the crossroads of eastern Corsica, equidistant between Bastia and Porto-Vecchio, and a departure point for the high mountains. Its resources come from wine and fruit-growing, and its proximity to the Diana pond and Urbino will enable you to sample the finest local produce in an exceptional setting. If you're interested in history, visit the archaeological site of Aleria - capital of Roman Corsica - with its hilltop museum recounting 15 centuries of history!

Stop off at Ghisonaccia and its long Pinia beach lined with maritime pines, ideal for lazing around and taking long walks with your feet in the water. If you feel like it, you can easily reach the typical mountain village of Ghisoni, through the majestic landscape of the Inzecca gorge. From here, you can reach one of Corsica's highest lakes, Lac de Bastani (2092 m), 500 m from Monte Renoso.
