Ajaccio and the surrounding area: a lively place!

The Tino Rossi marina, where cruisers, fishermen and yachtsmen meet, lends a certain charm to the town of Ajaccio. Connected to the city by numerous means of transport and pedestrian access, this window on the Mediterranean Sea invites you to stroll through its streets and markets. Something tells us that among all the offerings on the stalls, you're bound to find a Corsican speciality that will enchant you: fall for the subtly aniseed-infused "finucchietti à l'Ajaccienne", melt for the "ambrucciata" and its delicate brocciu (fresh sheep's or goat's cheese) topping or savour "u bagna pane", the tasty bouillabaisse from the Ajaccio region never served without its mouillettes. But the Gulf of Ajaccio has countless other culinary secrets to discover on your trip!

The many religious buildings in and around Ajaccio invite you to take a spiritual journey, while adding to your knowledge of the city's history. At night, Ajaccio and the surrounding area come alive with its bars and restaurants, where the island's atmosphere resonates. Vibrate to the sound of the typical songs and music that the streets pleasantly spread.

Gulf of Ajaccio: the history of a sun-drenched conquering city

A free city, Ajaccio was the first French town to be liberated from Nazi occupation during the Second World War. But beyond this far-from-anecdotal distinction, there's a much more ancient history to be discovered in this city, which is both in the south (geographically) and in the center (economically) of the island of Corsica... Our Corsicatours advisors could tell you all about it for hours...

Attached to their history, Corsicans are also fond of art. Be sure to visit the Lazaret Ollandini, built in a rotunda on the seafront. It was inaugurated by coral fishermen in 1841, and since then an Ajaccio-born businessman has founded an open-air art museum there in collaboration with sculptor Marc PETIT. The Ajaccio region abounds in artists, cultural nuggets and unusual places to visit... The corsicatours team will guide you to offer you the most personalized of trips!
