Ajaccio

Behind Ajaccio's glittering palaces and imperial memories lie a few secret places where the Corsican soul is revealed. Forget the gentle Ajaccio coastline for a moment and venture into the village of Alata. On the heights, a superb residence, the Château de la Punta, offers a magnificent view of the gulfs of Ajaccio and Sagone, as well as an insight into the island's history. This 19th-century edifice is a veritable architectural jewel in a green setting.

The rest of your South Corsica tour, departing from Ajaccio, takes you through vineyards and hillsides. Your first stop is at Clos Capitoro, the excellent estate of the Bianchetti family. Their red, white and rosé wines can be found on all the best tables in the country. Just a stone's throw from Porticcio beach, you can enjoy the tranquility of Clos Capitoro for a tasting among the vines.

From the imperial town, your itinerary then takes you to the hills of the Ajaccio region. The charming village of Peri is the next stop on your South Corsica tour. Beyond its steep streets, church and stone houses, you'll find a singular estate: Tarra di l'Apa. Here, Romain Salasca develops two products emblematic of the island of beauty: honey and wine. Between vines and beehives, all the taste of Corsica can be found on the land of Tarra di l'Apa.

Bonifacio

Around the cliffs and the citadel of Bonifacio, small beaches abound with the allure of paradise. An organized trip to southern Corsica is also an opportunity to bask in the beauty of the island's superb coastline. For your day in the sun, head for one of the most beautiful beaches in the south: Stagnolu. This wild spot is home to some incredible marine life, which you can discover with the help of masks and snorkels.

Then leave the roads and head out to sea. In the port of Bonifacio, Nautique Aventures offers boats for hire, with or without skipper. A visit by water gives you access to Bonifacio's secret treasures, such as the Fazzio cove and Grotta dello Sdragonato. If the wind is right, you can even sail to Cavallo Island, the only inhabited island in the Lavezzi archipelago.

Porto-Vecchio

A vibrant, epicurean city, a visit to Porto-Vecchio adds an extra touch of refinement to your South Corsica tour package. To savor the pleasures of the city of salt, take a seat at one of the town's refined restaurants: U Furana. The menu at this Gault et Millau-recommended establishment includes fresh goat's cheese and zucchini fritter salad, hazelnut-crusted Saint-Pierre brochettes and veal mignon with chestnuts and pancetta.

After your meal, you can relax in your hotel swimming pool or in the temperate waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. And if you prefer a more unusual swim, you can dive into the Cavu natural pools, located 10 minutes from Sainte Lucie de Porto-Vecchio.
