In autumn or spring, this 6-day trek will take you between the Corsican peaks and the Ligurian Sea, to encounter the authenticity of our island. This ride in a setting that brings us closer to the benefits of nature crosses the Désert de l'Agriate region to reach Saint-Florent.

Specialists will guide you throughout this breathtaking itinerary, one-on-one with your horse:  swimming at the island's most beautiful beach, mountain climbing, crossing vineyards and green pastures... All punctuated by picnics in a convivial atmosphere.

Day 2 : Poggio-di-Venaco

Le Cortenais
Meet at 9am at the stables to get acquainted with your horse and equipment. This first stage through the maquis continues in the afternoon on the mountain plateaus around the villages of Corten.
Overnight in a mobile home at the riding school
At around 6pm, the day comes to an end and everyone is free to return to their mobile homes until dinner. Dinner and overnight stay in a mobile home at the equestrian center;

Day 3 : Palasca

Transfer by car to the start of the hike
After breakfast at around 8:30 am, we transfer the horses to trailers (60 min) to organize our departure from Tartagine.

Day 4 : Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda

The Agriate
Departure for the gateway to the Agriate Desert. This region of almost 16,000 hectares is desert in name only: it was once considered a granary. Today, it still retains its many small, low dry-stone houses, which were used for lodging, storing wheat and tools, or sheltering livestock.  
We head for the coast, stopping for a picnic in our saddlebags at the paghjaghju de Guignu.

We head for the beach at Saleccia, have dinner and spend the night in a gîte;

Day 5 : Saint-Florent

Saleccia beach
After an invigorating breakfast, we head off to the fabulous beach of Saleccia. From here, we can admire magnificent panoramic views of the Gulf of Saint-Florent, its golden sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

On this day, we hike for around 4 hours along the customs path and enjoy a bathing break with the horses.

We'll stop off in Saint-Florent to spend the night in a mobile home on a campsite;

Day 6 : Vallecalle

The morning is devoted to lazing around and visiting Saint-Florent and its beach.

The afternoon's itinerary takes us to a region of vineyards and beaches: the Nebbiu region.
We cross these areas, very different from the rest of Corsica, and enjoy the view of vineyards, green pastures and terraced crops.

We then climb back up to the small village of Vallecalle for dinner and an overnight stay in a gîte;

Day 7 : Poggio-di-Venaco

The Tenda pass
This morning, we saddle up for our last day of riding. We set off and begin an ascent to Bocca di Tenda, culminating at 1,300m. From this pass we have a panoramic view of the Corsican mountains. If we're lucky, we may even catch a glimpse of the free-roaming herds of horses.

Return by car to the equestrian center
Then it's back down to the station in the village of Pietralba to meet the vehicles that will take us to the riding school;
Overnight in a mobile home at the riding school
After looking after our mounts and their equipment, the ride ends with a convivial meal at the riding center. Overnight in a mobile home (recommended).

This price includes

  • Welcome at Bastia airport.
  • Outward transfer from Bastia airport to the riding centre (approx. 1 hour by car).
  • Collective accommodation in mobile homes (bring a duvet) on the evening of arrival and the day before departure and during the ride: stopover gîte for 2 to 10 people with shared sanitary facilities, collective mountain refuge, campsite (sanitary facilities), bivouac (1 water point), tents for 1 to 2 people with mattresses provided.
  • Aperitif on the evening of arrival and departure.
  • Meals on site (wine available) or picnic in the countryside from dinner on the 1st day to breakfast on the last day.
  • Supervision: qualified guide and leader. As the school is also a training centre, trainees may be asked to supervise treks or stays on their own or with a qualified leader.
  • Riding and equipment: trekking horses suited to mountain tours, trekking saddles and mixed saddles with trekking equipment.
  • Stewarding: a steward's car every evening and at lunchtime generally with personal belongings. The return transfer from the riding centre to Bastia airport (approx. 1 hour by car).
