What's the weather like in Corsica in February? Rain or shine?
Winter in Corsica is mild and clement. In winter, the main towns remain busy, but some of Corsica's towns and villages are completely empty. You'll be charmed bythe town of Porto-Vecchio, which enjoys pleasant weather.. The Tyrrhenian Sea gives it a temperate microclimate, and the Ospedale relief protects it from bad weather coming from the north. It's here that you'll find some of Corsica's most beautiful beaches and numerous natural sites, not forgetting the impressive town of Bonifacio at the island's southernmost tip.
With an average temperature of 14°C on the coast, the mild, wet winter is much milder than on the mainland, but in the mountains you can expect lower temperatures and, in some years, heavy snowfalls. As for the coast, it benefits from sea breezes that play a dual role: soothing the summer heat and warding off the winter chill.
Where to go in February in the sun?
Everyone agrees that every part of the island has its own microclimate, like the Ajaccio region in southern Corsica, where the weather is almost always fine. The sunshine is exceptional, one of the best in France... Of course, expect the sky and temperatures to vary enormously between the coast and the mountains. Visit the West Coast for a friendly Corsican holiday, close to the snow-capped peaks and ski resorts , and the Museums for those rainy days!
For your next vacation - Easter, for example, or for an extended weekend (we'll have plenty of those in May!) - if you're planning to come to the Isle of Beauty, think about our our "BOOK EARLY" offersto make the most of the first vacation of the year at a reduced price!
Where to go in Corsica in winter?
In winter, Corsica offers magnificent, quieter landscapes. Mountainous regions like Corte or inland villages like Zonza are ideal for hiking and discovering nature. Coastal towns like Ajaccio or Bastia remain pleasant with a milder climate.
Where to go in Corsica in October?
In October, Corsica is perfect for enjoying the off-season. Regions like Porto-Vecchio, Calvi and Bonifacio are ideal for enjoying pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds and beautiful beaches. It's also a good time to visit Corsican vineyards and sample local specialties.
