Your next Corsican vacation will take you to Figari! Preparing your stay in Corsica by arriving at Figari airport
When and how to get here
Spring in Corsica is a very pleasant time, when the maquis awakens in color and fragrance. The light illuminates the landscapes, where the green of the soil meets the blue of the sky in an atmosphere of gentle warmth during the day. If you can't stand the heat of summer, don't hesitate to come out of season, when temperatures are more bearable, to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and walking. But remember to book your tickets and accommodation early to take advantage of special offers. Corsica is an increasingly popular off-season destination, especially for families with young children.
Located 5 kms from Figari, Figari Sud Corse airport is the island's No. 1 airport for business aviation and No. 3ᵉ in terms of commercial passenger traffic, and boasts the longest runway on the island.
To get to Figari, you have 2 solutions:
- Come by plane and land at Figari airport from Marseille, Nice, Paris Orly, all year round, and some twenty other French and foreign cities in summer.
- Come by boat to Porto-Vecchio, then drive to Figari.
Where is Figari in Corsica?
Located just 25 kilometers from Porto-Vecchio and 22 kilometers from Bonifacio, Figari is the ideal starting point for discovering authenticsouthern Corsica, far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside resorts that are often overrun in summer.
A small village with a Corsican accent, in Figari you'll have the pleasure of strolling through its narrow streets, visiting its little church and chatting with the locals in one of the village's charming little restaurants.
Numerous paths will take you to discover beautiful sandy coves for snorkeling sessions in crystal-clear waters. Don't forget to pack a delicious basket of Corsican cheese and charcuterie, and take along some good Corsican wine to enjoy every moment to the full!

Staying between Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio: What to do in Figari?
To help you decide, here are 3 good reasons to spend your next vacation in Figari:
Enjoy fine Corsican wine and charcuterie!
Part of one of Corsica's oldest vineyards(the first vines appeared as early as the 5th century BC), Figari's red, rosé and white wines are made from grape varieties such as Vermentinu, Nielluciu, Grenache, Sciaccarellu and Syrah. Four estates in particular stand out: Domaine de Petra Bianca, Domaine de Tanella, Clos Canarelli and Clos de Sarconne, whose owners will welcome you for a tasting of their full-bodied, fine wines.
Visit South Corsica on footpaths
Figari and the surrounding area boast numerous hiking trails especially on the coast. Starting from the port of Figari, you can follow the coastline and its paths, discovering beautiful marshes, inspiring rocks and fragrant scrubland all the way to Punta di Ventilegne. Take a break to admire the sea and the horizon! Continue along the beach to Pisciu Cane, a huge pond with rushes, then to Campu Mezzanu beach for a swim, on to Testarella and, not far from there, the Ventilegne bridge, which marks the end of the hike after 3h30!
If you take the Bruzzi trail from Pianottoli-Caldarello (5 kms), you'll arrive at the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve, with its breathtaking scenery.
Prefer to hike through a landscape of granite chaos? Head to Monacia d'Aullène (8.57 kms) for a hike to L'Uomo di Cagna, but don't forget your hiking boots and poles - it's not an easy climb! The less sporty can still enjoy a hike to the remains of Castellu di Baricci from Foce (4 kms). Don't hesitate to do your research depending on the length of your stay and your desires!
Lazy beaches and the pleasures of the Bay in complete tranquillity
The commune boasts 800 hectares of unspoilt coastline. If you appreciate the tranquility and beauty of a wild landscape, then Figari is the place for you! Although little-known, there are many secret coves and sandy beaches on the Figari coast, particularly at La Testa. The ones closest to Figari harbour are also excellent kitesurfing and windsurfing spots, perfect for beginners and advanced sailors alike. Visit the sailing school there, a must for all Corsican surfing enthusiasts.

But also to the river, in the Figari region, for delicious bathing in natural natural poolsless well-known and therefore less frequented than those of Solenzara.
