Where can you go canyoning in South Corsica?
Whether you're in Porto-Vecchio or Ajaccio, Solenzara or Propriano, there are canyoning sites for all levels within an hour's drive. We're delighted to tell you all about this must-do activity in Corsica.
Bavella's finest canyons: Pulischellu, Purcaraccia and Vacca
Amazing descents await you in a magical world near the Aiguilles de Bavella, where the years have sculpted majestic canyons bathed in a blue water that exists only here.
- Pulishellu , the easiest of the 3, is perfect for beginners and families. A short, easy walk will take you to the start of the canyon for a 2-hour descent through basins and waterfalls in a magnificent setting.
- The Pucaraccia, with its abseils and slides, is reserved for the more athletic. The 1h15 approach walk with equipment on your back, the 3h30 descent and the 45-minute return walk all require good physical condition. The sun's reflection on the water and its depths will surprise you with hitherto unsuspected colors... enjoy one of the most beautiful canyons on the island of beauty!
- La Vacca is a must for regular canyoning enthusiasts. In this perfect setting, the adrenalin is pumping, as there's no way around the obstacles: jumps, swimming, abseiling under the waterfall, weaving your way between the rock faces, the descent lasts 3 hours. An energy bar halfway down won't be a luxury!

Propriano, Baracci for the whole family
Just 10 minutes from Propriano, you can go canyoning with friends in the gorges of Baracci. A particularly colorful two-hour descent amid the red granite and green vegetation of the site, which beginners and children aged 7 and over can enjoy. You'll have the chance to jump, slide down natural slides, be massaged by waterfalls, take a zip-line to land in the water, cross a monkey bridge and finish by abseiling: a joyful moment in prospect!
Boccognao, the Richiusa
Located 40 minutes north of Ajaccio, Bocognano, the village where chestnuts reign supreme, offers canyoning on the Richiusa. With its 2 courses, it will delight families and sports enthusiasts alike. After a 30-minute walk, you'll reach the forest where you'll find 8 slides, a 12 m abseil, natural pools and a zip-line landing in emerald green water. A sporty half-day that will leave you with wonderful memories.
Adventure in Piana, the Dardu canyon
Departure from the calanques de Piana, opposite the Rocher du Coeur. Admire the spot, helmets on and equipment on your back, as you join the Dardu stream. This vertiginous canyon is very sporty and offers you a full day with 6 hours of descent punctuated by jumps and abseils, including one under a 35-metre waterfall! Be warned, only the initiated will be able to take on this highly technical canyon, and will have the opportunity to evolve in the middle of impressive rocks made of pink granite, before reaching the sea. At the end of the canyon, if you still have some energy left, you can swim 45 minutes to a beach near Porto.
The best of Soccia, Canyoning de Zoïcu
1h15 from Ajaccio and Porto, this Soccia trip offers an original way to reach the charming Lac de Creno, surrounded by conifers. You can choose between 2 routes to reach the lake: the family route lasts 2 hours, while the sporty route lasts an hour longer, with 3 abseiling descents of up to 30 metres. Which will it be? In either case, it's under the encouraging gaze of your team that you'll descend a steep wall, perhaps with a lump in your stomach, but your guide's invaluable advice, such as "straighten your torso, body backwards, lower your feet a little, lower your buttocks a little", will enable you to surpass yourself with a smile on your face.
