Visit Corsica in autumn

Bathing in warm waters

While the sea in Corsica in November can be a little chilly for a swim, venturing into the heart of the island, it's possible to plunge into the temperate waters of a thermal spring.

The Barraci baths

Located just a few kilometers from Propriano, the Barraci baths offer you the chance to take a dip in hot water close to the coast. After soaking your feet on Propriano's Capu Laurosu beach, you can warm up in one of the Baracci baths' basins. At this time of year, the plains and forests surrounding the thermal spring take on their autumnal hues. Make yourself comfortable in the outdoor pool and admire this sumptuous blend of colors.

Guitera-les-bains

If you like the idea of bathing in Corsica in November, but prefer more secret and picturesque spots, we invite you to Guitera-les-bains. In this rural commune at the foot of the Punta di Bozzi, 42° sulfuric healing water bubbles up from the ground. Once you arrive in the village, a small path leads you to the spring. Behind a small stone wall and a ruined building lies a small concrete pool in which you can immerse yourself in Guitera's warm water. This little pool, which only a few locals know about, lets you relax in the heart of the Corsican maquis.

Nearby, you'll have the chance to push open the doors of one of the region's most gourmet restaurants: Zella. Here, Jean-Marie Casamarta pays tribute to local farmers and craftsmen, creating recipes using his brother's cheeses and his neighbors' charcuterie.

Under the Corsican sun in April

Hiking through autumn landscapes

When autumn arrives on Corsica, the shimmering colors of the trees light up the trails. Add to this the calm of the autumn season and the mild temperatures at this time of year in Corsica, and November is an ideal month for hiking.

The English waterfalls

Before winter arrives and the weather softens, there are still a few steep trails to explore. One of them, leaving from Vizzavona, takes you to the sublime Cascades des Anglais. This relatively easy route winds through forests, rivers and waterfalls. Although this is one of the most popular hikes in Corsica, in November few hikers come to these paths in the Agnogne valley. You'll have the privilege of being almost alone to admire the autumnal scenery in the heart of the island.

The Bruzzi trail

There's nothing like a stroll along the coastline to make the most of the last moments of your vacation and the beautiful autumn sunshine. For this iodized hike, we take you on the Bruzzi trail between Propriano and Bonifacio. The itinerary begins in a landscape of lush green scrubland, then leads you along the coast between secret beaches, hidden coves and surprisingly shaped rocks. If you're not too cold, you can even go for a swim on the nearby Chevano beach.

Walking among the stalls

In Corsica, November is the picking season. Mushrooms, chestnuts, honey and clementines fill the markets in autumn on the island of beauty.

To savor these delicious products, we invite you to visit one of the island's many markets. In all Corsican towns and villages, the work of craftsmen and producers is given pride of place. At Bastia's traditional and organic Mercatu, Porto-Vecchio's market or Ajaccio's Marcatu, you'll have the privilege of savoring the gustatory treasures of the island of beauty. In the friendly atmosphere of a market, you can chat with producers and why not visit their farms, orchards and workshops for a day.
